Nifty Thrifty Tips!

HI there readers! Today I'm here to tell you all about how to be a *~*RECESSIONISTA*~* and *~*THRIFTING QUEEN*~*. I know, I know. Finding things worth buying at thrift shops (especially here in Memphis) CAN be a challenge, but I'm here to tell you......it's not.
FIRST OF ALL. Always keep an open mind. Never reject an article of clothing for being too "weird". You never know what that article of clothing could do for you. HOWEVER, if you're just not feelin' it, then put it back on the rack. You don't have to feel obligated to buy it just cause it's cheap!

SECONDLY. If you don't find anything on the first trip, DON'T GIVE UP. DO NOT. GIVE UP. I just can't stress this hard enough! The contents of thrift stores are always constantly changing. Just because you had bad luck on the first try doesn't mean you have permanent bad luck when it comes to thrifting! Go as often as you can....you seriously never know what treasure you could fiiiiiiiiiiind.

THIRD!! Always look thoroughly. Hard. And thoroughly. You could miss an absolute awesome bargain if you don't look hard enough. Don't just violently rummage through the racks like it's Black Friday. Chillax, and just carefully rummage through it. Take in the details, and always makes sure to detect stains or strong body odors....you don't wanna mess with those. *shudder*

And, FINALLY. Never hesitate to try things on. It may "look" weird, but who knows? Maybe it'll look smokin' hot on you! It could work the opposite way as well. You could find a SEXY dress and it could look terrible on you. You could say to yourself, "Hey, it was only 4 dollars. Meh," when you go home and try it on to discover it doesn't fit you adequately. Well let me tell you something, Mister....or Missus. You could've spent those four dollars on a 2 dollar meal deal, a Doritos Locos Taco, and a soft potato taco at Taco Bell! Or a tall caramel frappuccino from Starbucks. Opportunity costs, my friend. Keep that in mind. Always try your stuff on.

Well, that's it for tonight. I hope you feel enlightened by these profound tips (jussssss' playin'....kinda...*hairflip*) and I hope you have a beautiful day!

Remain fabulous,

Mariko.
